Hi everyone!
I'm back from a long, long holiday in England and Canada, hence my not posting for AGES.
I've had a fantastic time... first visiting my brother and sister in Leicestershire, my friends in Cambridge and my mother-in-law in Chelmsford before my husband and I (and our close friends J & J) jetted off for three amazing weeks in Ontario and Quebec.
As you all know already, our dream is to move to Canada in the not too distant future so we were checking out another part of the country to see where we'd like to live.
Although it was lovely, we've pretty much decided that we prefer Alberta and British Columbia, where we visited late in 2009. We will be returning again, but perhaps in the summer to see what it's like at that time of year.
I've been reading as much as I can about living in Canada... I want all the nitty gritty as well as all the good stuff, so if any of you lovely readers live there, do drop me a line with any advice you might have!
While with my sister, she introduced me to the Morganville vampire books by Rachel Caine... and I'm hooked. Yes, I know they're meant for teens but as they're so easy to read, they were great to take on my hols! I've read the first three (I bought six) but the last three I left in the UK as I didn't want to compromise my weight limit for shopping in Canada!!
So now I have to wait for my sister in law to post the remaining ones out to me! I'm dying to know what happens. Because I needed something to read on my flight back I popped in to Chapters and was recommended Blood & Chocolate by Annette Curtis Klause... there were tonnes of other books I wanted to buy, but they were all big and bulky so this one was perfect. It's pretty good, actually... about werewolves.
Anyway, I've babbled on long enough. Plus, I'm still suffering from jetlag and I don't really know of I'm coming or going... therefore I hope this has all made sense!!
I just wanted to let you know that I'm still around... I hadn't bailed on you. I was just living the high life!
x
Welcome back!
ReplyDeleteGlad to know that you had a good time.
Hey Suzy!
ReplyDeleteI've just recently moved to BC myself. It is beautiful, and I'm excited for the summer. Only other Canadian city i've been to was Montreal, this past spring, and if i spoke French I think i'd probably move there in a heartbeat!
It's a great country, where are you from exactly yourself? Nice to meet you!
