I loved the supernatural element... not necessarily the alien side of it (which clearly dominated the story) but those episodes about all things weird and wonderful. I remember a particularly memorable episode (The Post-Modern Prometheus,, the fifth episode of the fifth season) which featured the Cher song, Walking in Memphis. Every time I hear that song, it always takes me back to the X Files. It was such a weird one, wasn't it? I loved the eeriness of it. It was just so cool.
I still listen to the theme tune, it's a particularly inspiring piece of music, especially when I'm writing an eerie scene.
Were you an X Files addict?
Loved, loved, LOVED! the X-files.
ReplyDeleteI was a total X-phile back in the day. I still get all excited whenever Gillian Anderson is in something.
It's one of my faves of all time! In fact, I did X-Files too. I totally agree with you on the music, and I also love the eeriness. I'm the opposite on what I loved about it though. I'm a sci-fi fanatic, so I loved the alien aspect. :)

Timothy, I am not surprised you were a total X-phile back then! Gillian Anderson is pretty cool. Did you know she was dubbed the world's sexiest woman at that time? I think by FHM Magazine.
ReplyDeleteKristen, I did love all the alien side of it too. And you're right, the eeriness was just so cool!
