In light of the recent Mother's Day, today's featured question is 'Who is your favourite fictional Mum (or Mom depending on where you're from!)?
Ooh, that's a tough one. I adore Mrs Weasley (who doesn't?) from Harry Potter but I'm going to go with Meredith from The Raven Saga. I know I'm totally cheesy, choosing my own character but I can't help it. She's exactly how I would have liked my Mum to be. You see, tragically, I lost my mum when I was very young so I grew up not really knowing what it's like to have a mum, you know? And to top it all off, I also don't have any kids of my own (not by choice).
But back to Meredith. She's totally adorable, adores her kids and her niece, Lilly, who she kind of takes under her wing. She loves to bake and can often be found in the kitchen in her apron happily preparing goodies for the rest of the family. She's almost always smiling, even in the face of danger and I love her for that. She's a glass half full kinda gal :)
Don't forget to download your FREE copy of Raven. There are two more books in The Raven Saga: December Moon and The Lost Soul. You can also get a FREE copy of Daisy Madigan's Paradise, a Morgan Sisters novella. The sequel to Daisy Madigan's Paradise is also available: The Ghost of Josiah Grimshaw and the third, The Temporal Stone, is out later this month YAY!!
LOL That's ok to like characters from your own book!! Meredith really sounds like a great mom (or mum XD).
ReplyDeleteI downloaded a copy of Raven to my Kindle. Thank you!!!

Nice! Surprisingly in the books I have running around in my head that I am trying to write, not many of my heroines have their mothers. It wasn't intentional, it just kind of happened. On the flip side my mother was my rock during my childhood and teen years and still is! I love her dearly, but I have yet to have a heroine speak to me who has her mother.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting and following my blog! Returning the follow!
Have a GREAT weekend!
NEW Follower :D
I'm looking forward to reading your books! Thanks for offering Raven - I've downloaded my copy. :) I love Mrs. Weasley. This week I realized how many YA novels don't really have parents in them. They're either dead or aren't active in their teens' lives.
ReplyDeleteNew follower by bloglovin and GFC! :D

Hi Suzy! I have been a GFC Follower for a while, but am new to Feature & Follow. Thanks so much for Raven - I just got it for my Kindle.
ReplyDeleteI chose Molly Weasley from HP, and also Lily Potter (dying to save your child? that's the ultimate motherly love) and Marmee from Little Women.
