It's official... I'm a published e-author!

11.5.11

After months of hard work and days of trying to format my manuscript properly, this is it! My book is live! You can now purchase Raven at amazon and smashwords (and wherever smashwords distributes to). Isn't it great?!! I'm absolutely delighted.
When I first uploaded my book to smashwords, I had included a small image of a raven at the beginning of each chapter. Smashwords told me I was in the queue of well over 3000 other books so it took a day until it was finally up for me to check. Imagine my dismay when I opened the document to find the raven image as big as a page! So, I re-opened my document, deleted the raven, saved and uploaded. Once again, I had to queue (this time nearly 4000 books ahead of me). And there I was naively hoping that my book would just be published and up on the site instantaneously! How wrong could I be.
However, yesterday evening, Raven had reached the top of the queue and was live. I gingerly opened it up and hoped (fingers, legs, arms, eyes crossed) that it would be ok. It was fine, of course, but the odd thing? The raven is still there but a lot smaller! Very, very weird. Me no comprende!
Raven is also up on amazon but there are a couple of weird things I don't understand either. For instance, I put a price of 2.99 (dollars) and equivalent in UK and German currency. Yet when I open it up, it's on at 5.74! I've emailed them and currently waiting for their response. We'll see!
I also tried to do a search for my name (it's got to be done, hasn't it?!) but it showed nothing. Disappointing. Hopefully, it just takes a little for me to be entered into the database (that's what hubby says anyway!).
Right... I've babbled far too much this morning. I'm just so excited.... can you tell?
In the meantime, if you are feeling generous and need a good dose of fantasy... then please feel free to buy my book (hee hee hee).

  6. Huge congrats, Suzy! Raven looks amazing with its shiny new cover. Go and add tags onto your Amazon page. I've started you off with a few. But you need lots of people to 'agree' with each tag. The more you have, the better it is for people searching.
