#AtoZChallenge: M is for Music

15.4.13

Music. I totally couldn't live without it. It relaxes, inspires, takes you back in time, gets you in the mood (for whatever it might be that you want to get in the mood for!!), makes you cry, makes you laugh, makes you sing... out loud (especially when you're alone or in the shower)... it really is an amazing thing. I always wished I could sing or play a musical instrument. Sadly I can do neither... not that it stops me from singing, and I have been known to get up for karaoke (yes, I'm one of the embarrassing ones that thinks they sound good when... well, it's probably really quite the opposite. Especially when I'm singing something like Like a Virgin... cringe. Thankfully, I no longer get drunk enough to do this any more!).
Here are just a few of my all time favourite songs (I got a bit carried away so there are quite a few!)...
Cry Little Sister, Aiden
Stay, Shakespeare's Sister
Black Velvet, Alannah Miles
Poison, Alice Cooper
Born To Die, Lana Del Rey

  2. I love your eclectic music choices!
I also agree music is the international language.

One note of certain songs can turn me into a babbling idiot :-)

  3. Lovely post, Suzy; you have an amazing taste in music! My Immortal by Evanescence is definitely very evocative for me, and I'm also a huge fan of some other artists you mentioned. I'm definitely with you—music can bring you back to any time or place, and that's the magic of it. Thanks so much for sharing!

  4. Awesome selection there. Man, Cry Little Sister takes me back. I actually recorded it off the TV while movie was playing so I could listen to it off my little casette player when I was a kid. lol Such a great song/movie!

Having a great singing voice is something I've always wished too, but I try anyway cuz singing just feels good. :)
