Wizarding World of Harry Potter: What a place!

27.1.15

Hey folks! Well I'm finally back at home after a totally awesome holiday away in the UK and the USA. Hubby and I had a whale of a time... especially at Universal Studios in Orlando. Boy is that place F.U.N! I actually cried as we walked through the gates, I was so overcome with emotion LOL. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter was the icing on the cake. I just adored every second spent there. Now, I'm usually a real coward when it comes to rides and stuff. I've always been terrified of roller coasters and such like but I was determined not to leave that place with regrets so I told hubby that I was willing to do all the rides - even the mega huge scary roller coaster. Hubby, however, isn't so keen so we didn't ride the really massive ones (I secretly breathed a sigh of relief lol). I went on all the others though, even with my knees knocking together afterwards and my legs like jelly. It was amazing!
Sadly, our two day trip to the park was cut a little short on the last day when we were hit by a major rainstorm (and when I say major I mean, MAJOR). I've never experienced rain like it. Universal isn't built for such a large amount of water and the streets just flooded. Our brand new Chucks were totally sopping wet through, I mean they squelched when we walked. We were cold and wet and it wasn't particularly pleasant. We managed to find our way to The Hog's Head though, where we dried off a little with a Hog's Head Brew (picture below - lovely beer!) but when the rain had no intention of stopping and we were shivering like crazy, we realised we should head back to the hotel and get dried up :(
But it didn't dull the whole experience - I have the most wonderful memories that I will cherish forever. It's given me a whole new lease of life when it comes to adrenaline rides too... I'll be looking for them in future! I'm also hoping to return to Orlando in the next few years, just to get that feeling I got walking through the gates. WOW what a place!
I'll tell you more about the trip soon :D

  1. I'm glad you enjoyed yourself. We do get a bit of rain here in Florida. Wait until you've experienced the July thunderboomers, where the ground vibrates and the window rattle. Oh, I love Florida. Better than a ride.

  4. R.Mac, I'm not so sure I'd enjoy the July thunder boomers! I'm sure they'd scare me senseless - just like some of the roller coasters, Elizabeth. Loni, it was totally memorable, in so many ways.
Thank you so much for stopping by and leaving me a comment guys and gals xx
