What awesome praise

14.12.10

It's such a rush when someone praise's your work.
I currently have two pieces of work on the authonomy website. One, Raven, a book for children and young adults has been on there the longest. The other, Forever Fredless, hasn't been on too long. It's a romantic comedy. Chick Lit. Unfortunately, because of authonomy's page layout, it's not the easiest of books to see. People have to scroll down to find it. And, let's face it, scrolling down the page sometimes just takes too much effort for some people.
But there have been some readers... all of whom appear to have loved the story so far. Just recently, I received the most amazing comment from a fellow writer. So good, in fact, that I just have to share it.....

"I am officially in love. I LOVE this story, your writing...amazing!!! I've read it all, and loved every word. [how many times can you use love in one sentence?]
Amazing. I would very much like to read more. So far we know about Kate and her friends, we've been on holiday with them, we're getting to know more about Tony and we've had a glimpse of the AMAZING things Kate's inherited....but when is she going to find Fred? Was Marc with a "C" actually Fred....and he was getting married, wasn't he???
I empathise with Kate and I too have formulated this image of "the perfect boy". I think about him ALL the time and every really nice guy I've met I've scorned because he "doesn't match up". Having experienced the company of two boys I thought were "my type", and being SORELY disillusioned, I've slowly come to realise I will never find exactly what I'm looking for. However, this hasn't stopped me from my obsessive comparisons. I'm such an idiot. I recently turned down a guy who was an absolute gem because he didn't look my type. Idiot.
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE upload more SOON?????
I really LOVE your book. It's officially my favourite book on this site. Your style makes for an easy, entertaining, gripping read. Which is uncommon. Very seldom to you find a page turner that's laid back but still interesting. You have just the right amount of emotion and intrigue. I love it. I hope I've made sense???? I really can't wait to read the hard back. And I cannot wait to watch the movie ;)
All the best, god bless, and thank you for Forever Fredless.

HOW AWESOME IS THAT??? You'd be forgiven for thinking that it was written by a friend... but it wasn't. I don't even know this woman and so to receive this kind of praise is just fantastic!

Here's another comment...
"You have a wonderful easy storytelling style. It was like listening to a best friend over coffee. This is an enjoyable read. I wish you every success with it. Sana x"

To top it all off, I just received an email from a very dear friend who said...
"(ps: been reading your Forever Fredless book on my lunch break today-bloody marvellous!)

If only an agent would have the same opinion and sign me up! Hey... I'm still eagerly awaiting that call.

  3. Hi,

It's nice when someone takes the time to read through sample chaps, and if you're getting good feedback at Authonomy maybe you'll make it to an editors' desk.

Good luck and best wishes. ;)

  7. Dear Suzy,
I hope you keep up your great work on authonomy! You are doing so well. My book, MEMORIES OF GLORY, is at number 8 now (!!!) but it wasn't without a LOT of work, reading and commenting on others' books. There are so many talented people in the world, don't you think?

By the way, I have a blog too. You can find it at http://elizabethmarcuswolfe.blogspot.com. I hope some of your friends might like to take a look.

    Happy Holidays!
