RIP Pete Postlethwaite

3.1.11

I am very sad to hear the tragic news that British actor Pete Postlethwaite has lost his battle with cancer.
Being a massive lover of the movies (and television), I have always loved his work. He was a superb actor, so incredibly talented. He was only 64. Far too young to be taken from us.
He has appeared in so many movies, including Amistad, The Last of the Mohicans, In the Name of the Father, Clash of the Titans, Dark Water (pictured) and The Shipping News. He was also a star of the small screen and the theatre.

  2. The news of his demise - we've had several false alarms in our county of Shropshire where he lives. Very sad if this is finally true. Once danced with him in the Unicorn Inn in Ludlow. Happy Memories.

  3. Oh how lovely to have such a wonderful memory of him, Carole Anne.
Liz, yes he was amazing in Last of the Mohicans. I also recall quite an entertaining performance in a dragon film... I think it was with Dennis Quaid in Dragonheart.
His appearances on TV will be missed.
